Welcome to your American Heart Association CPR BLS Provider Classroom Course! Thank you for your interest in BLS Provider classroom and practice course (formally BLS for Healthcare Providers).

2nd: Course Name ChangPlease note that the American Heart Association has changed the name of the BLS for Healthcare Providers course to BLS Provider (instructor-led). There will no longer be a separate renewal class for BLS. The BLS Pro-vider course will be for New and Renewal students.

Card will be emailed or printed for you on the same day if you pay in advance, emailed within 48 hours if you pay onsite. Your AHA eCard is good for two years. And replacement during the two years is free. In addition to your Card you will receive a Registration Number that you may submit to your employer school, etc. so they may download your card for their records. BLS Provider replaced BLS for Healthcare Providers New or Renewal - Update. (BLS Provider) These people should take this course! Physicians, Pharmacist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Respiratory Therapist, Pharmacy Student, Nursing Students, Nurses, Physician Assistants, EMT Student, Paramedic, Firefighter, Nurse Practitioner, EMT, Medical Students, Certified Nurse Assistant - CNA's, CNA Students, etc. Dentists and dental assistants are required to know and maintain CPR certification. Dental Hygienist: While dental offices may seldom have a need for CPR skills, some dental procedures could cause a patient to experience a cardiac arrest. Note: BLS Provider replaces BLS for Healthcare Providers course! Doctors, Nurses, Laboratory Technicians: Hospitals require medical personal to be CPR certified. Medical personnel like doctors, nurses and laboratory technicians may be required to perform CPR in the course of their duties. (BLS Provider) Like hospitals, all medical personnel in a doctor's office must know how to perform advanced CPR. Office personnel, while less likely to perform CPR, may be still be required to maintain a basic CPR certification. Most offices will likely have an AED on premise, and employees must know how to use it. (BLS Provider) Medical and Dental Offices: Medical clinical personnel must maintain advanced CPR skills, which includes the use of basic equipment and how to do two-man CPR. Non-medical personnel could maintain CPR certification at a basic level. AED instruction may be required as a part of the CPR certification process. (BLS Provider) Law Enforcement and Firefighter (BLS) Police, sheriffs, emergency medical technicians (EMT) and first Responders must maintain CPR certification. EMT's and first responders need advanced CPR skills. Basic skills may be sufficient for law enforcement and regular firefighters.
